Keith Moor, Marketing Director at Santander UK, said to The Drum: “The Santander Current Account and 123 Credit Card are really changing the market giving value back to customers. The new marketing approach proves this to real people. The campaign is something new that we think will really cut through and reach customers.”
The campaign was about providing real value to local communities and so the branch staff used Santander’s digital tool, Cashback Calculator, to demonstrate to passers-by how much they could save.
Over the course of three days, hundreds of people joined the Fonix, Havas Worldwide and Santander teams to film the new campaign. The savings of the audience were totalled until they hit the £1m mark and all of this was shown on our screen. As a result of the town showing they could save £1m, the bank donated £25,000 to a local charity.
