London kicked off the FIFA World Cup 2018 and swung into action with Wimbledon by screening the matches live across the city. Fourteen Fan Zones have been placed in numerous locations, including The Scoop at London Bridge, Merchant Square and Regents Place amongst others. The open public areas are free for all throughout the summer and feature our staging and LED screens, attracting hundreds of visitors with performances and entertainment amidst the games. The activity surrounding England’s win, qualifying them to the quarter finals, showed celebratory activity all over the country and the sudden interest in big screens sky rocketed for the upcoming and potential future games (not forgetting Britain’s scorching heatwave contributing to the outdoor festivities). Local councils for Bath, Manchester and Reading also jumped on the band wagon by streaming the summers sporting events at regional landmarks. Retail store Ralph Lauren, annually screen the Wimbledon for their customers, which is displayed in their Flagship store window in Mayfair, London, in which Fonix have installed and remotely control content for.
